《獨眼巨人博士》是由知名导演Ernest B. Schoedsack 执导的一部科幻片，阿爾伯特·德科 Thomas Coley Jani 等倾情出演，该片讲述了：　　";Dr. Cyclops" is k nown  as one o f the better  "e arly sci-fi" films, made in  9;39 and rel  eased in  1940.  (It is also in color.) Bu t while the story  has p otential an  d the re are  some good mom ents, this is a very confused fi lm.　　The pl ot is  simple - crazy mad scientist o  n some remote island can shrink  animals, and wants to try it o n humans. He manage s this on a scien tific te  am tha t came to check thing s out. They get angry, and the crazy scientist eventually gets re  ally angry  because h  is new s hrunken subjects won't cooperate.　 　The thing is, the film doesn';t seem to know if it wants to be a thriller,  or a goo fy movie. Dr. C yclops (never called that but referenc ed to a Cyclops after  one lens i  n his glasses break s) looks co ol i n his "3 0's style sci-f i helmet&quo t; a s he performs exper iment s and can be chilling at times. But there  is so  much &  quot;Disney  -style goof y music"; going on that it is hard to take   anything s eriou sly. The  music belongs in a family comedy  for th e mos t par t, and is played  when the shrunken people d o things  like try to survi ve, and cree  p aroun d the floor. Add that a few o f them have pretty gruesome deaths and that just adds to the confusing atmosphere.　　The FX aren't so bad bu t nothing special. The giant sets built are pretty impressive  though . There is a scene where little fires are tossed at  a rea l croco  dile& #39;s head whi ch probably made animal activis ts angry.　　It also takes a long tim e for anything to really happe n. This movie could h ave be en done in a nice t ight half-hour. Good for a viewing, but you pr obably won't  watch agai n.
