While not an expl icit f ilm by any means, Delug e does deal fairly frankly with sexu ality, lust and rape. I wonder if RKO discovered they had a f ilm t hat they could not re-release, much li ke the fabled lost Warner Bros . comedy Convention City. It' s a shame f or, wh ile i t is a dated fil m, I find it quite uniq ue and su rprising for it's era and a fairly successfu l at tempt to create someth ing differe nt in an era w hen fil ms were already becoming cookie cutter b y-products o f the studio ma chine (not t hat many o f tho se cookies aren't tasty , mind you) .
