Beatin g one's wife seems to be  ingrained in many m en's  mindsets as the appropriat  e behaviour for a strong male, but the c onseq uences are misery for t he wife and children, and often a  bro  ken, unhapp y home. Th  e concept of do mestic  violence is b ased o  n the  noti on of patriarchy, which nee ds to be co nverte d into equalit y.　　 Ep08:Toxic   Food - Poison O n Our Plate?　　For de cades our food and w ater have b  een  contaminated by powerful,  harmful  pesticides which hav e been pro moted as necessary for better a gricultural  output . But the reality is that we don';t need  pesti  cides for better yield, and t heir use is  not only deadly for health but results in  expe nsive farming methods. The  solution is to adopt organ ic fa rming, which i s possible and profitable,  as the state of Si kkim  has sho wn.　　Ep09:Alcohol Abuse - Think Befor e You D rink　　 Alco hol consumption is associ  ated with having fun and enjo ying life. Bu t excessive,   irrespons ible drinking takes away that ver y life its elf. Many a lcohol addicts have cl imbed back to normal life,  proving that it is possible to live h appily without  alcohol. Countless peop le ha ve to live in degrading conditions  , chi ldren are unable to go to school, employment av  enues are clos ed, a nd even education does not  open  bigoted m inds.　　E p11:Old Age -- Sunset Y ears, Sunsh ine Life　　Our p arents are  the ones w  ho have brough t us  up and  made us wha t we are . At least out of cons ideration fo r that much, we shou ld be g ood and kind t owards them. But cou  ntless people all over India  don't think so, going by the numb ers  of abandon ed old people taken i n at old age homes.
